Research Interests
- Transition metal complexes:
reactions of coordinated ligands; mechanisms of electron-transfer;
- Molar volumes of metal
complexes in solution.
General Information Andrew W. Zanella is a Professor of Chemistry in the
Joint Science Program of Claremont McKenna, Pitzer,
and Scripps Colleges, members of the Claremont
Colleges. He received his A.B. in Chemistry from Cornell
University and Ph. D. in Inorganic
Chemistry from Stanford
University. He did
postdoctoral research at the Australian
National University
and U. C. Santa Barbara. He has done sabbatical leave research at the Australian National University
and Brookhaven National Laboratory. He has been at the Claremont Colleges since
1975 and is currently assigned to the Scripps College
faculty for the 2009-10 academic year. Prof. Zanella
serves as an academic advisor to Science and Management majors.
