Birding...
Birding and bird photography have been part of my life since childhood, growing up on Long Island. I have visted all regions of the United States and have a U.S. life list of about 755 and a world list of over 5000 species. I am especially interested in avian population changes due to human activities such as suburban development and habitat fragmentation.
I regularly lead field trips for the Pomona Valley Audubon Society of which I am president.
I also:
- help coordinate the Claremont Christmas Census
- do surveys of endangered local species
- identify bird bones from archeological and paleontological sites in California
