Conservation - Claremont, Johnson's Pasture


CLAREMONT - "Johnson's Pasture", a favorite birding grasslands and chapparel in the northern foothills of Claremont are being proposed for 150 home deveopment, according to The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Feb. 25.

Street accesses would be from Pomello west and Towne north.

Opposition is organized by the Claremont Wildlands Conservancy, newly formed to fight this Mesa Verde Development and others in the local foothills. Five conservancy meetings have attracted 30-50 concerned residents. The group at this point hopes to obtain grants to purchase the wildlands from the property owners.

Timetable according to the developer is up three years of planning and application permits.... but don't blink or it may be a fact.
