visit your mountains!

 

Grassy Hollow Visitor Center

Looking for a great day outing? Breath-taking views? Fresh air? Wildife? Hikes amongst the trees? ---and maybe even snow? It is all just a 1 1/2 hour drive or less away from the San Gabiel Valley and L.A. ----and its free. It's your national forest!

High mountain experiences in the summer --- Hike part of the Pacific Crest Trail, stroll, picnic or birdwatch from the sunny deck of the Visitor Center.

Snow in the winter --- An amazing time to be here and learn about the adaptations plants and animals make to winter conditions.

 

SNOW SNOW SNOW--- so the Volunteers will be leading snowshoe hikes every other Saturday starting 1/12/02 subject to weather conditions. Snowshoes will be available for use by the first 15 participants at no charge. Anyone interested should call 760-249-5148 or e-mail bigpines@hotmail.com to verify time and location.
