FUN FACTS:

Grassy Hollow is 100 feet from the Pacific Crest Trail, which goes from Mexico to Canada, a distance of 2631 miles.

The area around Grassy Hollow burned in 1997, a total of 18,000 acres, but the immediate area of our tall trees did not.

The Volunteers have recently re-signed the Lightning Ridge Trail, a 3/4 mile self guided nature trail one mile east of Grassy Hollow on Highway 2. Brochures located at the trail head will guide you through this trail while teaching about the forest.

LOCATION:

Directions from the Los Angeles Basin: Take the 10 Freeway east to the 15 Freeway north. Go up into the pass to Highway 138 west. There is a sign for Wrightwood and Phelan.
