Welcome to our lab site at the Keck Science Department of Claremont McKenna, Scripps and Pitzer Colleges. Our lab investigates questions in the field of behavioral ecology. One main focus is how the biotic and abiotic changes associated with human environments influence the behavior and hence survival and reproduction of the animals living there. We also address more theoretical questions, including research on the evolution of social behavior in spiders and the function of vocalizations in local birds.
