Projects

Projects will be done by a team composed of 2-3 students, depending on the
size of the class. In each project, the team will pick a skilled movement and then, using
what has been learned in class assess the skill level of each of the individuals in the team.
However, if the team so desires other individuals can also be included. The choice of the motor skill to be studied is left entirely up to the team, except that no two teams can assess the same motor skill.

The project should contain the following elements:

                   - what are the important elements of the motor skill

                   -  have there been changes in technique, equipment, etc over the years

                   - what are the elements used to assess skill level

                   - evaluation methods (e.g. design a check sheet to be used to evaluate the movement)

                   - evaluation of subjects (this can include used of photographs/video*)

                   - identification of major problems of the subjects and suggestion of some drills and/or
teaching strategies that might work - justify your choices

                   - are there health risks to performing this motor skill improperly

                   - include anything else that seems to fit and which interested you about this project
