An important aspect of this course is its use of
computers and in particular of software that can be downloaded
from the Internet either for free or for minimal cost. Thus there are a number
of computing requirements for
this course:
1). All students must have a personal computer. Ideally this should be a laptop;
however, it is quite possible
to take this course if you have a desktop computer.
2). All students should have a memory stick (e.g. 256 Mbytes).
Once you have registered for this course, please email and tell me what kind of
computer you have:

IF YOU HAVE NEVER TOUCHED A COMPUTER IN YOUR LIFE:
This course assumes that students already are quite familiar in using a
computer. Thus if you
know nothing about a computer, this course is not for you. However, we plan to
develop such a computer course
for undergraduate science students over summer, 2005 in the hopes that it will
be available to you fall, 2005
(or spring, 2006).
